I don't know where to start this 1st page but I know I have to start somewhere, so here I go.....

I found the wonderful world of art journaling so relaxing & I know I really needed that after everything my family was going through, here is my story,

I have 3 amazing kids & they are my life, my oldest will be graduating high school in a few months, so crazy to see how much she has grown I;m so proud of her, My son Timothy is so amazing with the issues he had to fight the ending of his 8th grade year he joined track & was having headaches & dizzy spells so on may 9th 2012 he got an MRI & we got the worst news ever my son had Chiari Malformation & has to have brain surgery to hopefully correct it, On December 4th 2012 he had his surgery & he was in ICU for 3 days & then they moved him to a room & he was in the hospital for a week, he is doing fine now but it was scary to have to do it all over again ,,,yes I said all over again my youngest is 12 now she was born with Chiari (Kee-R-ee) & had brain surgery when she was 4 years old. she is developmentally delayed she has no hearing in her left ear & she is border line in her right. she is the sweetest girl ever, as for me I was diagnosed about 4 years ago with pancritits  & I am now Chronic, NOT FUN!!! Im learning how to keep under control. I have my moments though...so when I found art journaling I was so excited I really needed something to help me escape from all this craziness. & it does I love it. well I hope I didn't make anyone fall to sleep while reading my 1st blog ever ... This is my little family...thanks for reading Tina Sarmiento

It's one thing to be illl yourself.. and it's another to have towatch your child as they go through changes with illnesses too! I have a daughter with autism.. and last year for my 40th birthday.. I was given a pacemaker.. because I have low qt syndrome (a rare heart disease) I can relate.. my crafting makes me feel the same way.. it's a escape from stress for me.. :-)

  4. Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! You have a beautiful family!
I too can relate to a challenge filled life. I've had Lupus for the last 30 years (at least that was how long ago I was diagnosed)and our oldest daughter has Turner's Syndrome as well as Hashimoto's Disease. Our son is mildly autistic with significant learning disabilities and our youngest daughter also has significant learning disabilities.
My art is my escape and my ME time. I look forward to my Monday Nights with Tracy and the wonderful friendships we have we each other in chat!
We sure can't say we live boring lives!

  7. It seems you have more on your plate than most, Tina! To have one child have brain surgery is more than just a bit stressful, but a second child...I cannot even imagine it. To fight your own health battles at the same time is really testing you, I am sure. You and your family will be in my prayers. I fully understand the release provided by your art journaling, and am so happy that you are doing it in our wonderful group! Good luck with your blog! One thing I might suggest is adding on your right sidebar a "gadget" that says, "Follow by e-mail." It helps old farts like me to know when you update your blog by sending me an e-mail--otherwise, I might not remember to periodically check! Hugs! Kay
